For some the term feedback can be felt as negative and maybe even daunting.  But when viewed as coaching, suggestions or "notes" we often have a different reaction.  Regardless of your reaction, getting suggestions on how to improve your performance is critical to the success that you pursue.  Even in Anders Ericsson's seminal work in which he discovered and described the need to accumulate 10 000 hrs of practice to achieve a level of expertise was not without specificity.  In fact, Ericsson highlighted that the practice must be deliberate where feedback is incorporated into the practice immediately to drive improvements.  Expertise is not simply about waiting out the clock when expertise then magically appears after a certain number of hours, it is about the quality of the practice, the specificity of the feedback and the immediate incorporation of it so the next iteration is even better.  If you want to get better, get better feedback and incorporate it even faster.
