Leadership is not about making the popular choice, or the easy decision; leadership is about doing what is right.  Unfortunately too many leaders have either forgotten this important principle, or have chosen to forget it.  But also, for some, the definition of "what is right" has become lost, ethereal, and polarized.  Everyone has a different definition of what "right" is so making a decision that is right, is seemingly impossible today.  Instead, leaders must paint a picture of what the future could be; one that is so clear in its description that everyone can see what that future looks like and what it holds for them.  Then collectively we can work together to create that future.  It may be a torturous path and one with difficult decisions, but when the vision of the future is clear, more people will buy into the outcome as well as the process to make it happen.
