Resilience isn't only for the big life events that come along, although it definitely exists there, it is what we do every day when things get hard or don't go our way. It is when you have a rotten day and go to bed disappointed and discouraged, but then awake the next morning and try again. That is every day resilience. It is when you get frustrated at work, but then try a different approach and a different tactic to overcome the frustration. It is having bouts of pessimism about the future and then realizing it is better to be optimistic. Resilience is simply trying again after the failure, frustration and disappointment. It is okay to be disappointed and frustrated, and failures will always occur; for we cannot have resilience without them. The choice of our actions after the negative event is what truly defines who we are.
Life doesn’t get easier or more forgiving, we get stronger and more resilient. Steve Maraboli
Enthusiasm is common. Endurance is rare. Angela Duckworth
You may have to fight a battle more than once to win it. Margaret Thatcher
Do not judge me by my success, judge me by how many times I fell down and got back up again. Nelson Mandela
