Many times when people start something new and are successful in overcoming the fear associated with starting  and the inertia preventing them from trying they are confronted with the stark reality that their physical capability is not up to the same standard as what they mentally envision.  We often think we can do more and are better than what are bodies really are capable of.  This can be nearly catastrophic for a person and may prevent them from ever trying again, especially if they are not ready to face this reality.  It is important to realize before you start that even though you may mentally see you successfully completing the task that physically you may not be able to.  You might have to grow into your mental image of yourself even to start with.  In the absence of good objective data and assessment, always start small, even too small and allow yourself to grow into your mental image.  It is often better, when starting, to be successful with an easy task than to fail at something a little harder.  One must grow confidence as well as physical capability.
