Excellence has a cost.  And it is often one that most people are not willing to pay.  For to achieve excellence in one thing, it requires sacrifice in many other things.  Most people do not see the sacrifice others make to achieve greatness in their sport or profession.  They do not see the long hours of study and preparation, the focus on muscular development, or the intense training sessions that leave them exhausted.  People do not see the missed special events that occur, or the nights out with friends that are also missed.  These are all the cost of excellence, and more, which is why most people are not interested in paying they cost.  To these people the delayed gratification is too high a price to pay to achieve world-class status in their are of interest.  The commitment, the sweat, the tears and the focus is just too much as well.  But for those that are willing to pay the toll for excellence, the glories await for anyone.  Be the one.

No pressure, no diamonds.  Thomas Carlyle.

Many have the will to win, but few have the will to prepare to win.  Vince Lombardi

Excellence is never an accident. It is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, and intelligent execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives - choice, not chance, determines your destiny.  Aristotle
