According to a September 2020 paper by McKinsey 56% of American workers claim that their boss is toxic and 75% say that their boss is the most stressful part of the day.  Said another way, when you are having a staff meeting with your direct reports and discussing the progress of projects and future plans for the team, more than half of the those in attendance likely think you are toxic in your leadership and three-quarters of those attending your meeting see you as the most stressful part of of their day!  And while you may believe that in your industry or in your situation these average results do not apply, you may be correct, but you also may not be.  These are staggering numbers to think about and reflect upon your leadership style and approach.  And should give pause for reflection and to test if you are creating the right environment that you need or if there is more work that you can do.

There is no magic formaula for great company culture.  The key is just to treat your staff how you would like to be treated.  Richrd Branson

Even the best Mindset will become contaminated and eventually blunted in a toxic organisational culture.  Anonymous

Toxic environments are not the result of spontaneous bad fortune. They are the result of toxic leaders.  M.A. Soupios, P. Mourdoukoutas
