Think for a moment about the culture that you and your leadership are creating in the office.  Does is represent the values you hold, or are you simply administering and following the culture that someone else is setting?  We are all role model is our work and in our leadership.  Others watch us and study us to learn how to behave and what is acceptable.  People observe us and then emulate us as examples of how to be successful in their own roles, in the company and how to advance.  So what behaviours and actions are you tolerating and condoning?  What performance are you coaching to improve?  Without a clear idea of the culture you are trying to create and a conscious effort to do so, the culture that evolves may not be the one you wish to see.  Remember that you are a role model, regardless of your position.  Take care to nurture the culture that reflects your values.

Setting an example is not the main means of influencing others; it is the only means. Albert Einstein

Example is leadership.  Albert Schweitzer
