Our accomplishments are in direct proportion to the focus we hold and inversely proportional to the distractions that we have in our lives.  The greater we can focus on the most important things in our lives, the more of it we can accomplish or the closer we can get to achieving what we desire.  Nothing is achieved by accident or without focus.  For what appears in our lives is a direct result of what we focus on.  Conversely, the more that we can control the distractions in our lives, the greater focus we can bring to the things that matter most which results in greater accomplishment.  Distraction is the enemy of excellence and focus the practice of champions.

Efforts to deepen your focus will struggle if you don’t simultaneously wean your mind from a dependence on distraction.  Cal Newport
