Have you ever driven home from work so engrossed in your thoughts that you don't really remember how you got home or what happened on the trip?  Imagine for a moment if you actually lived your entire life that way!  Not really aware of what has gone on, transpired or occurred and then waking up one day when you're in your forties and wondering what just happened.  Too often too many people live their lives on autopilot and are not fully conscious about their lives and the decisions they make that affect their lives.  While some autopilot actions are helpful to allow us to focus on other things, like breathing, not being consciously involved in many of the other decisions in your life typically only leads to to regret, missed opportunities and disappointment.  Instead become a conscious participant in your life, make informed decisions about what you want to accomplish and what is important to you; live your life according to your values, priorities and desires and not those imposed upon you by someone else.  Consciously explore what it is you want to accomplish with your life, then pursue that with a deep commitment to make it happen.

If your mind carries a heavy burden of past, you will experience more of the same. The past perpetuates itself through lack of presence. The quality of your consciousness at this moment is what shapes the future.  Eckhart Tolle

People will do anything, no matter how absurd, in order to avoid facing their own souls. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious.  Carl Jung

No one ever finds life worth living – one has to make it worth living.  Winston Churchill

We cannot live pleasantly without living wisely and nobly and righteously.  Epicurus

Your work is to discover your world and then with all your heart give yourself to it.  Buddha
