In order to build trust one must first trust.  Leaders all know the importance of trust in a work relationship and both leaders and team members understand the impact when trust is not present in the relationship.  But too often leaders believe that building trust is the others responsibility when in fact building trust is first theirs.  If you believe trust is missing it is likely a result of you not trusting, not the other being untrustworthy.  Look first to your actions, attitude and behaviours as the source of what is missing in your leadership for what we face in our leadership is a reflection of ourselves.
