While we all understand and believe in the value of collaboration as it typically helps us to get better answers to the challenges and problems we are facing, there is a dark side as well.  Too much collaboration can slow down decision making and action to a crawl or even paralyze it.  And this is never a good solution for you or your organization.  Some people can get seduced by ever more analysis and discussion with the noble intent of trying to make an even better plan or a superior action.  But to paraphrase general George S. Patton, a good plan executed well now is better than a perfect plan next week.  We will never have all the information to make a perfect decision, instead we have to get as much as we can as quickly as possible and then a make  a decision to move forward.  Collaboration is good but beware the dark side as well.
