Your muscles get weaker without constant use. Your cognitive ability declines without regular challenge. And everything tends to decline without a constant measure of upkeep, maintenance, and discipline. In fact, this is the second law of thermodynamics which provides us the insight that everything moves towards greater entropy (i.e. chaos or decline). Without tending to our gardens, the weeds invade, take over and choke off the vegetables we have planted there. And so it is with everything in our lives. Without the constant attention of tending to the excellence we pursue the natural order of things is to devolve to the lowest energy state. Excellence requires a daily investment to maintain and to grow the conditions we desire for without it decline, chaos, and disorder is what will result.
All great changes are preceded by chaos. Deepak Chopra
Chaos, when left alone, tends to multiply. Stephen Hawking
Chaos is inherent in all compounded things. Strive on with diligence. Buddha
