As part of the maturing in your journey of personal mastery, comparison to others becomes less and less important and what remains is only a desire to be better than you were yesterday. Theodore Roosevelt once said that "comparison is the thief of joy" and it is never more so than the comparison that we do between ourselves and others. Life is not a competition amongst everyone on the planet, but a progression to be a better person each day than you were the day before. A master only compares themselves to their former self, not to others, but is also still open to learn from them; a delicate balance no doubt. A sure sign of the maturity of our personal mastery journey is how we learn to compare ourselves to others less and only remain focused on our own personal growth.
Why compare yourself to others? No one is the entire world can do a better job of being you than you. Anonymous
