My habits are sourced in my beliefs.  If I explore, examine and update my beliefs I can change the habits that I follow.  The routines that I instill in my life form its habits.  And these habits help us to navigate life and make the conscious load in our minds easier.  But habits also detract from our resilience for when something doesn't go according to plan (i.e. the habit) we can be lost as to what to do next or how to accommodate the change and interruption.  Additionally, the examination of a base belief and realizing that it is  wrong or needs to be changed, can impact the habits that are formed from it.  This can allow you to consciously reinstall new habits and new processes that are better aligned with the ultimate goal of who you want to become.  In a lot of ways we are our habits, so if we want to be different and accomplish different things we must examine our habits and make the changes necessary to support our desired goals.

And once you understand that habits can change, you have the freedom and the responsibility to remake them.    Charles Duhigg

You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.  James Clear

Our character is basically a composite of our habits. Because they are consistent, often unconscious patterns, they constantly, daily, express our character.  Stephen Covey
