Indulge your curiosity. Cultivate interest. As you come across subjects and topics that interest you encourage yourself to learn more about that topic. Read a book, watch a documentary or research the topic a little bit more to feed your interest. This activity nourishes your soul and expands your thinking and capability. Life-long learning isn't solely about the study you do in your area of work, but also in your areas of passion and interest. Continue to be curious. For some it is easier to think about feeding their curiosity and interest rather than thinking about life-long learning. Regardless of "how" you get there, the focus on learning new things needs to be constantly supported and encouraged.
Wonder is the beginning of wisdom. Socrates
Curiosity is the wick in the candle of learning. William Arthur Ward

They are very helpful, but it would be a bad mistake to suppose that one has made progress simply by having internalized their contents. Epictetus
