Leadership is a learned behaviour that is developed through practice and apprenticeship. It cannot be simply observed and watched to be learned, it must be applied in ever increasing levels of responsibility and authority. It is clear that people placed into a leadership position too senior and too advanced for their current level of knowledge, learning and experience are doomed for failure so one must grow into their leadership over time. The journey of leadership, where ever you are with it at the moment, starts today. It isn't something you should put off until tomorrow or next week when your calendar is clear and you have more time, it must be pursued with priority and intentionality. Leadership development and the advancement of your skills takes time, energy and effort. There are no shortcuts in this development but the sooner you start your leadership journey the further you can advance in it.
One's philosophy is not best expressed in words; it is expressed in the choices one makes... and the choices we make are ultimately our responsibility. Eleanor Roosevelt
Leadership is a series of behaviors rather than a role for heroes. Margaret Wheatley
As a leader, it’s a major responsibility on your shoulders to practice the behavior you want others to follow. Himanshu Bhatia
