What distracts me defines me as much as what I focus on. In fact, if you are more defined by your distractions (i.e. magnitude and type) than what it is you focus on, you will only reflect upon your past and wonder what you have done. John C. Maxwell is famous for saying that he can tell you what your priorities are simply by looking at a week's with of your daily calendar. But for some, they only keep a daily schedule for their work appointments. The corollary to Maxwell's forecast is that how you spend your time with the 168 hours you have in a week defines your priorities, your values and what you deem important in your life. Look at how much time is spent doing hugely value-added activities versus those that are mindless in nature and contribute little to your success. Examine your allocation of the hours in the week and make some alterations to better align with your desired goals, you may be surprised with what you find.
Lack of direction, not lack of time, is the problem. We all have twenty-four hour days. Zig Ziglar
Whenever you want to achieve something, keep your eyes open, concentrate and make sure you know exactly what it is you want. No one can hit their target with their eyes closed. Paulo Coelho
Concentrate all your thoughts upon the work at hand. The sun’s rays do not burn until brought to a focus. Alexander Graham Bell
