It is said that yoga is not as much of a work out (although that it is) as it is a work in.  It is a spiritual practice aimed at making us more teachable and to open up our hearts and focus our awareness so that we can know what we already know and be who we already are.  Yoga is an exercise in self-awareness, focus and personal mastery.  It reminds us to meet ourselves where we currently are before we can ever hope of getting to where it is we want to get to.  And it reminds us that practice is key, regardless of experience level, capability or expertise.  Yoga is much more than exercise and serves as an example of what pursuing excellence is about and what personal mastery is as well.

Accepting means you allow yourself to feel whatever it is you are feeling at that moment. It is part of the isness of the Now. You can't argue with what is. Well, you can, but if you do, you suffer.  Eckhart Tolle

Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self.  Bhagavad Gita

Yoga is a mirror to look at ourselves from within.  Anonymous
